About Us

Casa Lucila Hotel Mazatlan Before PictureA rich and storied past surrounds Casa Lucila Hotel Boutique, located in the heart of Viejo Mazatlan. Its restoration is dedicated to the memory of a loving mother and father, Lucila Valades Valdez and Fernando Valades Lejarza.

The building has endured several incarnations during its lifetime, from a mansion for wealthy German immigrants to a Jazz-Age hot spot O’Brien’s frequented by John Wayne, Robert Mitchum, and Ernest Hemingway. Throughout its many manifestations, the building’s Victorian façade has remained a constant.

After two long years of construction, Casa Lucila Hotel Boutique enjoyed her grand opening on October 13, 2007.  The hotel owes much to those talented craftsmen who worked so hard restoring the property.

The hotel has eight beautifully designed and individually different rooms.  Each room is named after each of the eight daughters of Lucila Valades Valdez. Each guestroom offers ocean or courtyard views and is accented with custom-made Italian doors and windows, tiled floors and bathroom fixtures.
