About Us

Casa Lucila Hotel Mazatlan Before PictureA rich and storied past surrounds Casa Lucila Hotel Boutique, located in the heart of Viejo Mazatlan. Its restoration is dedicated to the memory of a loving mother and father, Lucila Valades Valdez and Fernando Valades Lejarza.

The building has endured several incarnations during its lifetime, from a mansion for wealthy German immigrants to a Jazz-Age hot spot O’Brien’s frequented by John Wayne, Robert Mitchum, and Ernest Hemingway. Throughout its many manifestations, the building’s Victorian façade has remained a constant.

After two long grueling years of construction, Casa Lucila Hotel Boutique enjoyed her grand opening on October 13, 2007 but not without the help of all the talented individuals who helped restore the building.

The hotel has eight beautifully designed and individually different rooms, each named of the eight daughters of Lucila Valades Valdez. Each guestroom offers ocean or courtyard views and is accented with custom-made Italian doors and windows, tiled floors and bathroom fixtures. Each was installed in the hotel to offer our guests a place to relax.
